PROJECTS
Project 1 – Canal Court Hotel Newry, Co. Down

We were appointed by our clients McParland Properties Ireland Ltd as Consultant Quantity Surveyors and Estimators to carry out the following work:
PHASE 1
The project brought new life into the centre of the town of Newry. The site was originally O’Hare’s Mill which was demolished and redeveloped into a multi-storey 48 bedroom hotel. It has 48 bedrooms, a leisure complex, swimming pool, 2 restaurants, an old world pub, 3 lounge bars and 3 function rooms, large rear carpark and associated site works.
PHASE 2
New extension to the existing hotel consists of:
• 56 new bedrooms
• 5 new shell shop units
• Hotel link corridor over the rear car park
• New restaurant
• New car park and external works at rear
Project 2 – Carrickdale Hotel Ravensdale, Co. Louth

We were appointed by our clients McParland Properties Ireland Ltd as Consultant Quantity Surveyors and Estimators to carry out the following work:
PHASE 1
• Alterations and refurbishment of the existing hotel
• Construction of new dining room extension
• Construction of Laceys new nite club extension
PHASE 2
• Construction of new leisure complex
• Construction of new swimming pool
• New 50 bedroom extension
• New car park and site work.
Project 3 – Hannas Close Kilkeel, Co. Down

This project consisted of the restoration of six 17th century houses and surrounding out buildings with external works.
The dwellings were presented using traditional building materials such as Reed Thatch, Bangor Blue Natural Slates, local stone and lime putty mortar. Experienced local tradesmen carried out the work by traditional building methods.
Our role as appointed Quantity Surveyors and Estimators was to provide the following services:
• Tendering for the project on behalf of the main contractor
• Preparing interim valuations
• Attending monthly site meetings
• Preparing interim financial reports
• Measuring the works on site
• Preparation and settlement of the final account
The project was designed to keep the heritage sector alive and to provide self catering accommodation for rental to the public.
Project 4 – First Presbyterian Church, Newry

We were appointed by the client as Project Quantity Surveyors. This project consisted of the stone spire, cleaning and rebuilding in position, together with the provision of new stainless steel tie rods within the spire.
The restoration of stained glass and refurbishment of timber windows and widespread repairs to the roof.
The external walls were cleaned and extensive repointing to the exterior of the building was carried out using traditional lime mortar.
A new external flood lighting system was provided together with associated work to the exterior.
Project 5 – Metal Technology Ltd Antrim

We were appointed by the client as Project Quantity Surveyors. This contract consisted of the erection of a 1000m2 warehouse extension plus canopy, the recladding and re-roofing of the existing warehouse; the construction of new office accommodation approx 310m2 and all associated external works.
